I think the name of this blog may be a reference to the short-story by William Jacobs, named, "The Monkey's Paw". The short-story was a cautionary tale on how wishing for things and receiving them was a way of interfering with our fate. To name this blog "The Monkey's Fist" may be a suggestion to not interfere with our fate, but instead, work towards it. A fist being a more aggressive and active symbol than a paw, makes the connection that we should be more pro-active in the pursuit of our goals and dreams by overcoming obstacles and hardships, instead of simply wishing for the success we seek.
